In the lead-up to the Liberal Leadership election (referred to as “selection” by some), the difference in coverage of the available choices became very clear. Canadian newswatchers of a certain age remember a time when both corporate and state backed media outlets made an effort to include some kind balance in their coverage. That is strangely absent. In coming posts, we will advocate for a critical balance in reporting related to aspects of the election campaign just announced yesterday.
Here though, we look at how next to no acknowledgement was given in our establishment media about the biggest Canadian event in recent history.
We ask… could MEDIA SILENCE on the CONVOY (like on countless other matters) be a NATO PSYOP TACTIC?

On January 28, 2022 US evolutionary biologist and podcaster Heather Heying wrote a piece entitled: Truckers for Freedom When you’re both essential, and fed up:
People are neither as stupid nor as asleep as we have been told. At least, there are a large proportion of people who are neither. Are we all seeing things clearly? Of course not. Presumably, every single one of us is confused on some counts. The landscape is vast, and changing rapidly. But many of us are awake, and thinking.
People are rising up to protest nearly two years of increasingly authoritarian measures. And these measures are being invoked to protect us from an increasingly low-grade threat. In sum: as the risk from the virus declines, the loss of our freedoms marches on, unabated.
And the biggest names in American print journalism are utterly failing. They’re not alone. The biggest names in scientific funding and policy agencies, scientific journals, and research universities are also failing. As, of course, are the biggest names in tech. That should give the MSM no comfort. Failing in elite company is still failing.
Heying, like fellow host of the DarkHorse Podcast Bret Weinstein, describes herself as a former college professor and politically liberal. In late January 2022, she did a search of the media coverage on the presence of trucks and protesters converging on Ottawa, Canada. Screen captures of web searches posted here document results from 1966 as well as news involving war related truck convoys in Vietnam and Afghanistan and precious little about the 50,000+ trucks and 1.5 million people headed to Canada’s capital at the time.
Now, 3 years and 1 month later, while some still see the Convoy as the height of Right Wing Extremism in this country, many are becoming aware of how the misleading coverage/non-coverage of the most massive Canadian citizen movement was/is clearly a tactic of an Information War.
NOT FAILURE - But WARFARE
Early in the alleged pandemic, many people felt the issue was a TOTAL FAILURE of every institution concurrently. But soon, other voices claimed:
Mistakes were NOT made. This Was NOT just a bunch of RANDOM FAILURES coincidentally occurring all at the same time.
One Substack writer, Margaret Anne Alice, found patterns in many historical genocides and added the Pandemic deaths to the list.
Canadian journalists, broadcasters and media outlets are ethically obliged to abide by journalistic codes of ethics. This ethical obligation lay at the basis of the tool developed by CSNews to assist those who compile and those who follow news to reestablish the sense of balance currently lacking in media reporting. In 2022, Heying, like so many critical newswatchers, attributed the deliberate omission of much of the Convoy story and COVID reporting in general as a FAILURE of journalism.
However, we are so beyond FAILURE - It becomes clearer every day that we are in a state of WAR.

We are now three years after our federal government sent out its decidedly Unromantic Valentine’s Day message with batons, pepper spray and violence against law-abiding citizens doing their civic duty to point at crucially dangerous government polices. Three years later, DESPITE ALL THE DATA THAT VINDICATED THE ACTIONS OF THE PROTESTORS, we continue observing total media silence on the estimated 17 million deaths globally due to COVID-19 mRNA injections, and the same estimated toll of deaths due to hospital policies, etc. and we saw NO REPORTING on the commemoration of what transpired on CANADA’S DARK VALENTINE’S DAY. Most well-intentioned news watchers and policy makers are NOT getting to hear the information presented outside of “official” news coverage, like the work assembled by public interest research initiatives like Correlation Canada and RECOVER19. Nor are corporate- and government-backed establishment media platforms allowing space and time to present the cutting edge scientific information that was heard at hearings of the National Citizens Inquiry and the two “Injection of Truth” events held by an Alberta political party riding association.
Three years ago, in late January 2022, Alberta Dr. Roger Hodkinson, like so many Canadians all around him, eagerly awaited the arrival of our Freedom Convoy in Ottawa. As Moses of Ancient times went to an unwilling Pharaoh to ask for his people to be set free from their slavery, the Truckers were planning to meet with our federal elected officials to present the science that contradicted the vaccine mandates and isolation policies about to be foisted on the trucking community. Policies that had already been shown to be futile, unscientific, harmful and deadly in other countries and in Canada.
It was to be a no-brainer. You make the policy. We have the evidence of the economic and social damage of this policy. You listen and learn and are persuaded by science and logic and obviously will change the policy. Then we all drive back home to get on with our lives.
We hear the eager excitement in Dr. Hodkinson’s voice as he introduces and reads a poem written by former SK Professor of Surgery, Dr. Francis Christian, yet another Canadian doctor whose life, career and potential contribution to society were upended by uninformed, ideological mandatory injection policies.

Both senior physicians saw in the multitude of truckers and the huge number of Canadian supporters a “turning point of history as to how governments rule over us” and “an opportunity to reset how politics is done”. As Dr. Hodkinson and so many others saw it then, “the time is right for a big pushback in our favour this time… this is an unstoppable demonstration, we are going to fight to the end, no matter what it takes. The great resetters are going to be gobsmacked…the great resetters, your time has come, you’d better head for the hills because we are coming we will now start dictating terms to you.”
Aha, this kind of language did not sit well with the powers that be. Revolutionary talk like this belongs in the movies, not in reality.
Now, three years later, we know much more about the ties and interconnections between the United Nations and its subsidiary, the World Health Organization, and their “partnership” with the very corporate entities are ruled by the profit motive. We know now who and what was meant by “the Great Reset” and we see in recent legislation (or legislation still before us) unmistakable traces of mechanisms for “global governance” — no longer a “conspiracy theory” but fully documentable fact.
We are learning to look far beyond the Fauci-Wuhan-lab leak angle. Thanks to the work of researchers like former US pharmaceutical executive, Sasha Latypova, we are able to follow the US Military’s directorship of virus and vaccine development and roll out, not just for SARS-CoV-2 but for the “Highly Pathogenic Avian Flu” now poised to push the newly announced human avian influenza vaccine purchase, delivery and (obviously soon to follow) implementation. Just as it ignored evolving COVID-19 science these past 5 years, establishment media (formerly known as ‘mainstream’ or ‘legacy’ media) also remains silent on the results of the various inquiries into government handling of the response since the first reports of a mysterious respiratory virus coming our way from China back in 2019.
They continue this silence and do not mention, for example, the January 1, 2025 announcement that one of President Biden’s last action was to extend the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act until DECEMBER 2029? TWENTY-NINE!!!! (Source)
Eight weeks later, we still have not heard any discussion of the implications of this extension on Canada. Nor of how it contradicts with the WHO’s May 2023 declaration of the END of the COVID Public Health Emergency.
Outside of the mainstream media bubble, in addition to staying on top of COVID-19 science, Canadians are now digging into the science behind psychological warfare techniques.
From that perspective, the LACK of coverage commemorating the recent anniversary of the greatest citizen movement to ever arrive in our capital city becomes clear.
TODAY, via independent citizen jouranlists driving new media outlets, citizens are hearing more and more revelations of the coordinated military psyop based handing of the COVID-19 situation come out. Documents such as the two NATO briefs below become increasingly more relevant:
NATO guidance on UNDERSTANDING PSYOPS & other INFORMATION WARFARE TECHNIQUES
Canada is a member of the NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION (NATO). NATO itself, in this undated bulletin (estimated to be 10 years old), points at DISRUPTING INFORMATION FLOW and CONTROLLING ONE’S OWN INFORMATION SPACE as important INFORMATION WARFARE tactics.
NATO warns the public that the best way to resist propaganda and disinformation is to escape the “information bubble” or “echo chamber” and diversify one’s sources of information. And yet, following the onset of the alleged COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the millions of Canadians who followed this advice and sought news and analysis OUTSIDE of establishment institutions and media platforms were now viewed as a “hostile populace” — targets of all manner of psychological countermeasures intended to achieve “compliance and cooperation.”
A 2002 NATO document outlining military psychological operations (PSYOPS) doctrine contains many tactics familiar to close observers of censorship and establishment media disinformation around Canada’s 2022 Freedom Convoy.

PSYOPS is one of the most successful military tools available to prevent the outbreak of hostilities, to deter in times of tension, to prepare the battlefield prior to actual hostilities, and after the outset of fighting, should be used as a combat multiplier. It is particularly well suited to crisis response operations when the support of uncommitted audiences are essential to success, and when the final ‘End-State’ is normally the restoration of peace and security. (p. xi)
0004. Successful battlefield PSYOPS will determine that NATO forces will face an enemy that is both unsure about its cause and capabilities, but well aware of NATO strengths. In crisis response operations PSYOPS will influence significantly the degree of compliance and cooperation from specific target audiences.
0005. In most recent military missions relations between the military force and the population inside the area of operation have become crucial to the success of the mission. The primary tools available to the commander to communicate with any target audience are PSYOPS assets. Commanders can also use them to talk directly to an adversary, opposition forces and a hostile populace, in order to reduce their willingness to fight. Similarly they can be employed to sway uncommitted audiences, fostering their cooperation with NATO forces and other international organizations.
0006. Future struggles will not only be performed on the battlefield but also in the mind of target audiences such as the decision-makers, the armed forces and, most importantly, populations inside and outside the area of operation. As a result the operational commander will need a robust PSYOPS capability, ready to intervene from the outset of a crisis. Deterrence is obtained by the addition of three main elements ‘Capability, Will, and Enemy Perception’, PSYOPS will contribute to shaping the last one.
0007. PSYOPS addresses target audiences in Theatre while Public Information informs the international media, and NATO nations conduct their Troop Information; consultation and coordination between all three areas are mandatory.
US pharmaceutical executive Sashya Latypova and others have compiled a COVID DOSIER in which they outline the MILITARY involvement in the years leading up to and during the COVID-19 “crisis”. Links to documents pointing at the role of the Canadian Armed Forces are included as well:
One Canadian link in the dossier refers to Mar. 2, 2020 as the START DATE of Operation LASER, the Canadian Armed Forces’ (CAF) response to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic — while there is NOTHING on this operation to be found via the search engine of Canada’s “Trusted News Leader” The Canadian Press on the topic at all.
PSYOP ASSETS
Our journalists, broadcasters, and all establishment institutions have been USED. Key media figures have been viewed as PSYOP assets. The willingness of the population to fight back appears to have been reduced as one of the goals outlined in the document. Already in April 2022, ON Premier Doug Ford’s government passed the Keeping Ontario Open for Business Act which clearly shut Ontario down to more intrepid CONVOYing to the Capital. The aim was “fostering” “compliance and cooperation”, via the battlefield space in the MINDS of our INFLUENCERS.
The War was NOT against COVID-19 BUT AGAINST critical thinking and “vaccine hesitancy”—anything that could interfere with the military countermeasure (mRNA injections) against the deployment of a military weapon—the virus, a product of years of targeted research and development, just like the currently circulating clade of HIGHLY PATHOGENIC Avian flu virus.
COVID-19 is not over. The precedent of using PCR testing to “diagnose” and drive “rising infection rates”, “increased risk” and then present the perfect pharma solution has now been set and can be observed playing out again in the Avian Flu narrative as well as in the BC Ostrich story by those knowing what to look for.
CBC REPORTING MEETS CRITERIA OF PSYOP MEDIA REVIEW!!!
Following George Orwell’s playbook, we discover this in the 2002 NATO PSYOP manual:
B0120.An internal ‘Product Review Board’ (PRB) should be established within the CJPOTF/PSE to ensure that all products designed by the Product Development Centre (PDC)/Media Section meet the requirements of the PSYOPS Commander before any product leaves for external approval. An additional purpose is to harmonize comments made by the staff elements and other (civil/military) agencies involved.

OMISSION LYING
While this article demonstrates the use of propaganda to create a negative perception of the convoy among non-participating, mainstream media watching public, another key problem is the deliberate omission of stories somehow deemed problematic. In an article on psychopathic behaviour, the topic of “omission lying” is explained as follows:
Omission lying can be defined as the deliberate withholding of pertinent facts or information regarding a person, event, life history or scenario which leads the person receiving this incomplete information to perceive and act differently than they would if they had been given the full relevant information….It’s not what is said, but what is NOT said, what is omitted, what is left out, that’s actually crucial in understanding what really went on. https://psychopathsinlife.com/omission-lying-explained/
So three years ago, this was NOT SAID:
“Countless Canadian truckers, along with medical and scientific experts are moving en masse to bring the data around the unscientific and unsuccessful COVID-19 policies to our federal politicians. All along the nation’s highways, Canadians are showing their support of this initiative.”
And still, despite the plethora of new scientific data SUPPORTING the truckers’ & scientists’ position at the time, that information is STILL NOT coming out via establishment media platforms.
Is it any wonder Canadians who SAW THE TRUCKERS WITH THEIR OWN EYES, noting the TOTAL ABSENCE OF ACCURATE MEDIA COVERAGE, have lost faith in the Establishment Media themselves? We learn this from the article on omission lying as a feature of psychopathic behaviour:
If someone withholds certain highly pertinent information about a person/event/scenario/life chronology that leads to person receiving this (incomplete) information to perceive the situation/person/event radically differently than if they had the full information, deception is taking place…. The person is carefully crafting what they say so as to conceal what they don’t want you to know. Is that the basis for an honest and trusting relationship? The answer should hopefully be clear…. Most times, when important information is NOT disclosed in a way which deceives and misleads someone, the intentions are self serving and manipulative, not altruistic or noble.

D0108.Possible techniques. The following is a palette of techniques, which have been used successfully in the past. But it must be underlined that whether these can be used individually or in combination depends on the outcome of careful analysis. An analysis which apart from the above mentioned also includes factual information about the audience, their general perceptibility and their attitudes towards the adversary as well as towards own political and military initiatives.
Direct Refutation. Point by point rebuttal of the hostile message. The aim is to completely discredit the message and, by implication, other messages originating from the same source. The disadvantage of this technique is that it requires the enemy’s message to be repeated in full, which re-advertises it.
Indirect Refutation. The refutation here is by introducing a new line of argument which will, to the audience, dispose of the enemy’s allegation. The audience must be led to make the connection itself.
Forestalling. Beating the enemy to the punch. Announcing our reverses before the enemy announces their victory.
Diversion. Direct audience's attention away from the issues being raised.
Initiative Deception. The deliberate distortion of the adversary psychological
activities. His own themes and symbols are turned against him.
Minimisation. Reduce the importance of an issue and dismiss it as trivial.
Immunisation. Insulate people from outside influences. Pre-conditioning or indoctrination ensures that the audience will automatically dismiss messages from a particular source.
Silence. By saying nothing it may blow over and soon be forgotten.
Restrictive Measures. Deny the target audience access to an adversary’s
psychological activity.
Rumour Control. Counter with education of population and delivery of timely information and data to population.
These Glossary Terms are well worth considering:
Propaganda: Any information, ideas, doctrines, or specials appeals disseminated to influence the opinion, emotions, attitudes, or behaviour of any specified group in order to benefit the sponsor either directly or indirectly.
Black. Propaganda which purports to emanate from a source other than the true one.
Grey. Propaganda which does not specifically identify any source
White. Propaganda disseminated and acknowledge by the sponsor or by an accredit agency there of. (AAP-6)
Psychological Operations Approach: The technique adopted to induce a desired reaction on the part of the target audience. (AAP-6)
Psychological Consolidation Activities (PCA): Planned psychological activities in crisis and war directed at the civilian population located in areas under friendly control in order to achieve a desired behaviour which support the military objectives and the operational freedom of the supported commanders. (AAP-6)
Psychological Media: The media, technical or non-technical, which establish any kind of communication with a target audience. (AAP-6)
Psychological Operations (PSYOPS): Planned psychological activities in peace, crisis, and war directed to enemy, friendly and neutral audiences to influence attitudes and behaviour affecting the achievement of political and military objectives. They include strategic psychological activities, psychological consolidation activities, battlefield psychological activities and peace support psychological activities. (MC 402)
Psychological Operations Situation: That part of the overall operation situation in which PSYOPS taken at command and unit level, as well as the commitment of PSYOPS units, are planned and executed. (AAP-6)
Psychological Situation: The current emotional state, mental disposition or other behavioral motivation of a target audience, basically founded on its national, political, social, economic, and psychological peculiarities but also subject to the influence of circumstances and events. (AAP-6)
Psychological Theme: An idea or topic on which a psychological operation is based. (AAP-6)
Public Information (PI): Information which is released or published for the primary purpose of keeping the public fully informed, thereby gaining their understanding and support. (AAP-6)
Receptivity: The vulnerability of a target audience to particular psychological operations media. (AAP-6)
Susceptibility: The vulnerability of a target audience to particular forms of psychological operations approach. (AAP-6)
Target Audience: An individual or group selected for influence or attack by means of psychological operations. (AAP-6)
Example:
Target audience = decision makers such as employers, school administration, faith leaders, heads of sporting institutions with a high receptivity to public information given on psychological themes like “we are all in this together”, “we know how to protect the vulnerable, but some selfish, hateful people will put us all at risk”. We will plan psychological operations to consolidate desired behaviours via white propaganda.
